Lochaber pubs will vary widely in atmosphere, rarely offering up frosted glasses or royal prices. Most Fort William area pubs are very welcoming to strangers, as the area does see a regular volume of tourists looking for a night on the town. Chain pubs are almost unheard of, unlike outside the Highlands, with each one having unique decor and personality of its own. Drink prices are reasonable, poured to standard, and usually served by a smiling face offering a kind word or a bit of advice on the area.
