is one of the oldest, if not THE oldest Isle of Skye Hotels, having been built just after the turn of the century, in the early 1800’s. Its idyllic setting, with incredible views of the Knoydart Mountains and the Sound of Sleat, are quite noteworthy and show off the splendor of the West Highlands of Scotland. Be sure to take the route through Mallaig, which deserves some time in its own right, before heading over on the ferry to Armadale, which is just a few hundred metres to the Ardvasar Hotel.
The rooms, all 10 are en-suite of course, vary in price and start from £45 per person, per night, and include breakfast. The menu features local game, seafood, and of course Angus beef, which is sure to please. If you’d prefer, there are vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and a range of dining options to suit your tastes and needs.
I find refreshing the fact that the hotel is children friendly. Address: Ardvasar, Sleat, Isle of Skye, IV45 8RS Telephone: 01471844223 Website: Ardvasar Hotel Website
