Former footballer John Hartson is throwing a party to celebrate his final fundraising walk up Ben Nevis – and mark the fifth anniversary of his cancer battle.

The 39-year-old and his wife Sarah, who is originally from Spean Bridge, near Fort William, are hosting the BraveHart Bash in Fort William’s Nevis Centre on Saturday, July 26.

Lively Scots dance band The Tatties – whose mash up of traditional and modern styles ranges from ceilidh classics to Bryan Adams and Biffy Clyro – are the stars of the show and proceeds will go to John’s testicular cancer awareness charity, The John Hartson Foundation.

John and Sarah – who recently celebrated the birth of their third daughter Paige Faith – are regular visitors to the area, home of Sarah’s parents Katherine and James McManus. Read more
